When Visiting D.C.



The US Census Bureau is pleased to announce that the Census Bureau
Library will be installed in its new quarters in time for ALA 2007. To
celebrate the newest federal library in the Washington DC area, the
Library has scheduled 2 open houses to coincide with this June's
convention.

The U.S. Census Bureau Library is celebrating the Grand Opening of our
new building. Come join the Census' Library staff in touring our new
facility. The new Bureau of the Census facility is a state of the art
structure with 1.5 million square feet, designed by Skidmore, Owings &
Merrill, who also designed America's tallest building, Chicago's Sears
Tower. Glass and green-tinted concrete walls have a shield of willow
farmed tropical species wood. The U.S. Bureau of Census is the largest
statistical agency of the federal government and premier source of
information about the American people & the economy. Bring Photo ID.

line Metro to Suitland- Federal Center stop and meet at Bureau of

Tickets: This event is free, but limited space is available. Please
note: Two tour days are available.
